College – Application
What parts does the college application consist of?
A typical college application consists of a personal information form, a few short questions about your family, your
extracurricular activities, etc., one to three essays, two recommendations, and an official transcript. You must also submit
any required test scores (such as the SAT I, SAT II, ACT, or TOEFL) with an official score report through the testing company.
Though every college has its own application, one option for people who are applying to several schools is the Common Application,
which is accepted by a large number of schools and can be photocopied and submitted to as many schools as you like
(you still have to pay the fee for each school, though). Check the website (www.commonapp.org) for a current list of
which schools accept the Common Application and information on how to obtain a copy.
